A few weeks ago it was reported that the publisher Kodansha would bring out the first volume of the manga written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama, Shingeki no Kyojin ((attack on Titan) in an extra-large edition (70.4 × 100 cm) with the aim of setting the world record for “The largest comic book in the worldThe huge book is priced at 150,000 yen (about $ 1,400) and the publisher had to sell a total of 100 copies to break the record. That amount was sold in two minutes.

This book, which is only ninety-six pages and includes the first two chapters of the original manga, weighs 13.7 kilograms, is 101 centimeters high, and 71 centimeters wide. Kodansha Publishing pointed out that it should be stored lying down so that it does not become deformed due to its enormous weight. After all, the book will be delivered in May and the registration of the world record is already in progress.

For his part, Isayama began to publish the manga in the magazine Bessatsu Shonen magazine from the publisher Kodansha The publisher published the thirty-second compilation volume on September 9, followed by the thirty-third on January 8. The work will be completed in April.
