Sasaki to Miyano, the highly regarded Yaoi manga, written and illustrated by Shou Harusono, will receive an anime adaptation in the course of 2022as revealed by the author himself and the Kodansha publishing house. The series is being produced at DEEN, which is again working on a Boys Love anime five years after it was released Super lover.

Yen Press, the publisher who distributes the manga in North America, describes the story as follows: "Miyano is a high school student who loves the manga Boys Love, which he reads all the time. One day the boy happens to meet his Senpai Sasaki, with whom he has a little argument because of his passion. Fascinated by his Kouhai, the mysterious and disreputable Sasaki uses every opportunity to approach Miyano until ... ".

Shinji Ishihara (Fairy Tail, Log Horizon, Talentless Nana) directs the anime DEEN studies, while Yoshiko Nakamura (Super Lovers) writes the script. Maki Fujii (I've Always Liked You, The Moment You Fall In Love) takes care of the character design while Takahiro Ueno oversee the team. The speakers will be the same ones chosen for the drama CDs released with the final volumes of the manga.

Sasaki to Miyano is a Yaoi manga, or focused on homosexual relationships between the protagonists. In Japan, the genre is quite famous and in recent years it has mainly been adopted by female mangaka to tell stories aimed at a female audience. Lately the genre has also hit the mainstream in the west thanks to the extraordinary success of Given.
