L ‘Manga industry has grown exponentially over the past few years, thanks in part to the numerous animated adaptations produced by as many studios, and a recent ranking of the best-selling works for the month of September in the US published by NPD BookScan shows the impressive fan base of Japanese comics.

In fact, according to the following ranking 19 of 20 positions of the best-selling graphic novels in the US are occupied by great exponents of Japanese comics.

Based on the adaptation of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, in transit Sensor and Tomie of the master of horror Junji Ito, in the first positions of the top we find Berserk by the late Kentaro Miura, Demon Slayer by Koyoharu Gotoge and My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi, absolute protagonist with 5 positions, including the first two.

The data at hand is interesting to see how different they are the first volumes of the series are particularly valued to be back in the ranking in recent years, especially because of the sales of My Hero Academia and Demon Slayer again. However, there is also renewed interest in Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami, and for Hajime Isayama’s Attack of the Giants, one of the most important mangas of the past decade.
