With 2021 drawing to a close, it’s time for awards in Japan. While Mashle, Oshi no Ko and Komi-san are competing for the Shogakukan Prize, the publisher Takarajima has announced the ranking of the 2022 edition of Kono Manga ga Sugoi, one of the most prestigious awards. And once again Tatsuki Fujimoto wins thanks Look back.
The 2021 edition win with Chainsaw Man was doubled this year with Look Back, the oneshot released last summer that moved and impressed everyone. Look Back places itself at the top of the manga for boys rankings, complete below with the top 10:
- Looking back 175 points;
- Chi – Chikyuu no undou ni tsuite 145 points;
- Kaiju No. 8 136 points;
- Dandadan 86 points;
- Tokyo Higoro 74 points;
- Freeze – 71 points after the end of the journey;
- Oshi no Ko 65 points;
- Trillion game 49 points;
- Peleliu – Rakuen no Guernica 48 points;
- Darwin Jihen 43 points;
Although it was a single volume, Look Back managed to pick strong candidates like Kaiju No. 8, Dandadan and Oshi no Ko, but also the highly acclaimed Freeze – After the End of the Trip.
