The editorial office Shogakukan listed that the sixteenth compiled volume of the manga written and illustrated by Souichirou Yamamoto, Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san (Tease Master Takagi-san) will be released in Japan on September 10th. The description stated that the literary franchise had exceeded 10 million cumulative copies in circulation. This count also includes digital copies sold and all spin-offs, including Karakai Jouzu no (Moto) Takagi-san (Experienced teaser (formerly) Takagi-san), written by Mifumi Inaba and focused on the adult lives of the two protagonists.

Souichirou Yamamoto began publishing the original manga through the magazine Monthly Shonen Sunday from the publisher Shogakukan in June 2013. The publisher published its fifteenth anthology on February 12 in Japan. The piece inspired a twelve-part anime adaptation produced by the studios. Shin egg animation, Headed by Hiroaki akagi and scripts written by Michiko Yokote, released in January 2018, with a second season in July 2019. Production of a third season and an animated feature film is confirmed for 2022.
