The leaks of the next edition of the Weekly Shonen magazine confirms that the manga is written and illustrated by Hiroyuki, Kanojo mo Kanojo (Girlfriend, girlfriend) has exceeded a cumulative circulation of over a million copies. The count includes digital copies sold and the seventh compiled volume to be released in Japan on August 17.

Kanojo mo Kanojo

For his part, Hiroyuki began publishing the manga through the magazine Weekly Shonen magazine from the publisher Kodansha in March 2020. The publisher released the fifth compilation volume on April 16, followed by the sixth on June 17 in Japan. Hiroyuki is also the author of manga like Aho girl, Doujin work Yes Mangaka-san to Assistant-san toowho inspired anime adaptations.

The piece inspired an anime adaptation produced by the studios Tezuka Productions, Headed by Satoshi Kuwahara (Gotoubun no Hanayome, Adachi to Shimamura, Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu Ω) and scripts written by Keiichirou Oochi (Gotoubun no Hanayome, Adachi to Shimamurai, Hinamatsuri) currently broadcasting in Japan.

Summary of Kanojo mo Kanojo

After Naoya Mukai had an unrequited love for several years, she finally gets a date with her childhood friend Saki Saki. However, when he tries to get involved in this relationship, he receives an abrupt confession from Nagisa Minase.

Naoya tries to reject her at first, but is soon overwhelmed by the feeling of not wanting to hurt her. In order not to abuse his girlfriend’s trust, Naoya comes up with a “solution” to make both happy: going out with both of them. Of course, Saki rejects the idea, but through Naoya and Nagisa’s persistence, she eventually accepts. This begins a three-headed romance between Naoya, his girlfriend, and his other girlfriend, who from the start have had a relationship that deviates from the social norm.
