According to the leaks in the next issue of the magazine Weekly shonen jump, which will be published on June 14th, the manga written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, Jujutsu Kaisen, will be paused indefinitely due to health complications of the author. The announcement was made through a printed statement stating:

«Thank you to our readers for your continued support of Jujutsu Kaisen. Due to Gege Akutami's poor physical condition, “Jujutsu Kaisen” will be missing from the next issue for a while.. Akutami-sensei wanted to continue writing, but after several discussions with the editorial team, it was decided that it would be best for Akutami-sensei to take a break for a while. Hence, we found that this was the best decision for the author to regain his physical condition. More information will be published in the next issue of Weekly Shonen Jump (based on issue 29, for June 21).. We apologize to all of our readers for waiting week after week for a new chapter and hope to continue to count on your support.

[Mensaje de Gege Akutami] The editorial team asked me to take a break from the series, but I don't want to pause the weekly Jujutsu Kaisen series as I want to write the ending asap.. However, compared to other writers who take breaks, I just can't catch up. If nothing is done about it, the same situation will repeat itself over and over again, so he decided to accept the editor's suggestion. The blocking period should be around one month. Even when I say I'm sick, I don't think it's serious. My mind is perfectly fine so don't worry. I'm really sorry to keep you waiting. As soon as I get back I'll be doing my best again on the weekly serialization».

On the other hand, Gege Akutami started publishing the manga in the magazine Weekly shonen jump from the publisher Shueisha in March 2018.
