In the ninth issue of the magazine Young King Our from the publisher Shonengahoshaa new chapter of the manga has been published, written and illustrated by Kouta Hirano, Drifterafter a seven month break. Before the current chapter, the previous one was published in December 2019.

Hirano began publishing the manga in Shonengahosha's Young King Ours magazine in April 2009. The publisher published the sixth volume in November 2018.

The work inspired an anime adaptation produced by the studios with twelve episodes. Hoods Drifters Studio, Led by Kenichi Suzuki and scripts from Hideyuki Kurata, released in October 2016.

Drifters synopsis

At the beginning of the Edo period, the samurai Toyohisa Shizu was in the middle of a bloody fight against the legendary Tokugawa clan to ensure the successful withdrawal of the Shimazu clan forces.

After his entire unit has been massacred, Toyohisa alone manages to force the enemy to retreat, but is mortally wounded. When he leaves the dejected battlefield, he is in a mysterious white hallway, where he is immediately thrown into a door. When he reacts, he realizes that he is in another world and meets the "Drifters" there, other legendary warriors who died and ended up in the same room.
