After Denji begins confronting Makima, he reverses the situation with a surprise attack and begins his plan. We saw the boy in the finale of Chainsaw Man 96 Cooking and eating makima to keep it in check. Fujimoto’s choice suggests that the ending is going to be really insane, just like the rest of the manga.
After the last vignette of the last chapter, we could expect a Time leap for Chainsaw Man in which we will see society return to normal after the events that struck it. After that time, we will see the result of Denji’s decision that he will continue to devour the parts of Makima to prevent him from regenerating indefinitely. However, considering Fujimoto and his style of storytelling, it cannot be overlooked that Makima wins and celebrates his ideal world premiere with the chainsaw man at his feet.
