Summary of the Yowamushi pedal

Sakamichi Onoda is a happy otaku who wants to join his new school's anime club to finally make some friends. Unfortunately, the club has disbanded and he takes it upon himself to revive it by finding students willing to join. Out of luck, Onoda decides to take his clunky old town bike for a round trip to Akihabara, a weekly 90-kilometer ride he's been making since fourth grade. He then meets his first-grade classmate, Shunsuke Imaizumi, a determined cyclist who uses the school's steep slope for practice. Surprised by Onoda's ability to scale the hill on his special type of bike, Imaizumi challenges him to a race and suggests joining the anime club if Onoda wins. And so begins the young man's first foray into the world of high school bike racing.
