The lore created by Eiichiro Oda is dense, multi-layered, multi-faceted, unique: in the history of manga, very few have managed to create anything similar ONE PIECE, which is unsurprisingly a record-breaking manga. Throughout the story, Luffy was always the center of attention, but several times there was a hint of very important past events.
There have been many things that have shaped the world today such as the birth of the Rocks pirates and that of Roger the Pirate King, the destruction of Ohara, the genius of Vegapunk and more. However, certain events that shape the world of ONE PIECE date back several centuries, sometimes even millennia. Just think of the empty century and the great unknown ancient kingdom, but there are events that actually predate it. So, this is the oldest known event in the world of ONE PIECE?
According to the Tenreki calendar and what Nico Robin said before the poneglyph of Alabasta, Kahira conquered the island of Alabasta in 239. Since the calendar has no comparison with today’s world, it is not possible to know if this is the oldest event. However, Alubarna’s palace was built approximately 4,000 years before the beginning of Luffy’s story. If the two events are related, and if Nico didn’t lie to Robin, then capturing Kahira is not the older event.
In fact, there is one confirmed event going back a thousand years. This is confirmed in the third data book of the series “ONE PIECE Yellow: Grand Elements”. The Ohara tree was planted 5,000 years earlier from the beginning of the story. Consequently, there is a thousand years difference from the construction of the Palace of Alubarna. So this is theoldest event in the ONE PIECE timeline. And did you know?
