Since January 1994, Gosho Aoyama’s manga, Meizzantei Conan, has been known in the western world as Detective Conan. In Japan, the work began almost immediately, and in fact, after only two years, in January 1996, the broadcast of anime on Japanese stations began.
While Gosho Aoyama’s manga has yet to reach 100 volumes, the Detective Conan anime has already exceeded 1000 episodes, not to mention very frequent feature films and television specials. The brand is indeed one of the most famous and popular in Japan and every week the episodes get a good rating. But of the 1000+ episodes of Detective Conan that are the most important?
Less than half of the episodes actually relate to the plot or really develop the characters. Of the 1011 episodes broadcast in Japan, if we also take into account the evolution of the characters, there are 408 Chief Detective Conan Episodes. However, the number sinks to 228 episodes if we only consider those that are directly related to the main plot and thus to the men in black.
