It seems like a particularly happy moment for the former Spider-Man villain: alongside a regular series, Venom joins the MCU and, as if that weren’t enough, becomes the protagonist of a new mini series by David Michelinie, the co-creator of the black symbiote.
Marvel Comics actually announced it Poison: Deadly Protector, a five-issue mini-series in which Michelinie will write a new Venom story from March 2022, supported by illustrator Ivan Fiorelli.
Poison: Deadly Protector will see a setback for Eddie Brock and his symbiote. In the current stories, Brock has actually become the King in Black, a true deity for the symbiotes, while the role of Venom on Earth has been taken over by his son Dylan. Michelinie’s goal will be Tell a story of the original Venom, the ruthless villain from Spider-Man.
“P.Telling an additional story about the original Venom was like going to dinner with an old friend – who wants his brains to eat for dessert!“Says Michelinie.”It was both fun and exciting, and I hope readers will enjoy reading the story as much as I enjoyed writing it.“.
Venom: Lethal Protector # 1 will debut in the US on March 23, 2022. In the meantime, Amy Pascal tells us that work on Venom 3 has already started.
