An official statement reported that the manga was written and illustrated by Yuuji Nishimura, Uchuu Nanchara Kotetsu-kunwill inspire an anime adaptation that will premiere in April 2021.

The statement was made on September 12, the day the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency celebrates "Space Day," as that is the date the first Japanese astronaut went into space in 1992.

Nishimura began publishing the manga through websites rather than an editorial in August 2019, shortly after the fiftieth anniversary of the moon landing, and has published a new chapter every Monday since then.

Production team

  • Hazumu Sakuta (Ouya-san to Boku, Ueno-san wa Bukiyou, Neko no Dayan) is responsible for directing the anime in the studios Fanworks (Aggretsuko, Sumikko Gurashi: Tobidasu Ehon to Himitsu no Ko).
  • Yoichi kato (Youkai watch, Uchuu Kyoudai) is responsible for writing and monitoring the scripts.

Synopsis of Uchuu Nanchara Kotetsu-kun

The story follows the daily life of Kotetsu-kun who wants to become an astronaut in the future. as well as his friends at Animal Space Academy, who also fight every day to fulfill the same dream.
