The Japanese portal Myjitsu published an article indicating that the original animated film by Bandai Namco Pictures, Hula Fulla danceAt the box office, it has done poorly since its premiere on December 3, despite good reviews on social media.
«The anime film “Hula Fulla Dance”, which released on December 3rd, was a flop. It seems that fans of Haruka Fukuhara, who was the voice actress for the main character, and anime fans are lamenting this fact. It’s an original animated film by Seiji Mizushima, the director of hits like “Fullmetal Alchemist” and “Mobile Suit Gundam 00”. The story revolves around Natsunagi Hiwa, a new employee who has decided to become a hula girl.».
«Fukuhara is spoken by Natsunagi. She commented on her role: “Hiwa is a hardworking and happy girl, but she is also a little insecure, so I want to do my best to portray her sensitive side correctly.” In addition to Fukuhara, the film also features popular and talented voice actors such as Kaori Maeda, Miu Tomita, Yuuki Yamada, and Dean Fujioka. The attendance figures do not appear to be good, however, and are outside the range of the first screening in the Ranking of National Movies, December 4-5, which the news agency announced at the box office. There are many articles circulating on the Internet about the “remarkably empty spaces” in the projection rooms.».
«The movie itself isn’t bad, and fans wrote on social media: “It looks like the first week box office is going to be a disaster … so please … check it out … it’s going to be a tough world if it doesn’t get the recognition it deserves …“,”The movie Hula Fulla Dance is good. It is not very good. It is very good. You should see them“,”I’ve seen Hula Fulla Dance, personally I think it’s a good film“,”I watched this film with low expectations as it was a local animated film so it is difficult to get recognition. In the end it was a good experience“,”It was interesting, there were a lot of moving moments and I was impressed“, Y”Hula Fulla Dance deserves more success than it currently hasAlthough it got a lot of positive reviews, it ended up being few who saw it in theaters».
