In 2018, many VVVVID viewers encountered Pop Team Epic, a short-lived comic anime with a total of 12 episodes in which two girls, high school students, took part. Between comic events and meta jokes, the adaptation of the manga of the same name by Bkub Ookawas has prevailed and received excellent feedback.

In Japan, the anime has aired several times over the past few years, with retransmissions called Pop Team Epic Repeat that ended a few days ago and ended in 2021. And on the same day it happened revealed with a teaser trailer that Pop Team Epic will get a second anime. The second season of the series has already been confirmed with Shota Aoi, the voice actor who appeared at the end of the first season to reveal it.

Pop Team Epic 2 will debut in 2022 with Popuko and Pipimi who will return. The confirmation also comes from the Manga magazine, where the two protagonists break through a wall - perhaps the fourth wall, given the many quotes and meta-jokes - with the writing 2022 in the upper left corner.

The show, which is also distributed on Amazon Prime Video, was hugely popular and in fact there was a special episode of Pop Team Epic after the end of season one.
