By posting on his official Twitter account, the author of the franchise Yahari Ore no Seishun love comedy wa Machigatteiru ((My teen romantic comedy SNAFU or Oregairu), Wataru Watari, commented on the franchise’s next original project titled Yahari Ore no Seishun love comedy wa Machigatteiru. Ketsu.
Wataru Watari: «Usually the speaker and production team would make comments like, “Ketsu? … What the hell are you referring to? …” Hehe, only I know the answer».
Nao Touyama (voiced by Yui Yuigahama): «Yahari Ore no Seishun love comedy wa Machigatteiru. Ketsu ”. None of the cast had guessed the meaning of “ketsu”. I like that, Kan → Ketsu → Tsui → Sai → Shin … I think you mentioned that you wanted to keep this eternal work».
Wataru Watari: «I haven’t even told the editor or producer in charge of the meaning of “Ketsu” … Perpetual Play? … Well, it’s been ten years now, I think we could bet on ten more years! I will keep writing forever, so I hope you keep playing Yui!».
The production of this new project was started during the event “OreGairu Fes. -FINAL- “took place on January 17th in Japan. Although the format of this project has not been specified (it is not even confirmed to be an animation), it confirms the production of an OVA that will be featured in the next video game in the franchise. Further details will be announced shortly.
Synopsis of Oregairu
The romantic comedy revolves around a rather unsocial student named Hachiman Hikigaya, who has a distorted outlook on life, other than having no friends, let alone a girlfriend. Seeing his classmates happily talking about their teenage lives, he mumbles that they’re all a bunch of liars. When asked about your dreams for the future, your answer is “No work.” However, a teacher manages to enroll Hachiman in the volunteer club, in which it turns out that the most beautiful girl in the institute, Yukino Yukinoshita, is also enrolled.
