A leak from China assured that the manga was written and illustrated by Souichirou Yamamaoto, Kunoichi Tsubaki no Mune no Uchi (In the heart of Tsubaki Kunoichi), will have an anime adaptation in 2022. The information has not been confirmed, but if so then in 2022 the premiere of anime adaptations of three works by Yamamoto, including Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru (When will Ayumu make his move?) and the third season of Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san (Tease Master Takagi-san).
Yamamoto started publishing the manga in the magazine Monthly Shonen Sunday from the publisher Shogakukan in January 2018. The publisher published the fourth compiled volume in January 2020, followed by the fifth in August 2020 in Japan.
