On the official page for the anime adaptation of visual novels Higurashi no Naku Koro niannounced the release of a special Blu-ray compilation package for the franchise.
The launch is planned for September 30 in Japan and consists of the 26 episodes of the first season, the 24 episodes of the second season and nine OVAs from both seasons.
These first two seasons of the adaptation were produced by Studio deenand published in 2006 and 2007 respectively. For his part, 07. The franchise has inspired many other live-action manga and film projects in addition to anime.

Synopsis of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
On a warm summer day in 1983, transfer student Maebara Keiichi arrived in a peaceful rural town in Hinamizawa. There he befriends his classmates Rena, Mion, Rika and Satoko. Keiichi and the gang, who are recognized as official members of the “Club”, practice various activities such as card and board games as well as hide and seek.
But just as Keiichi was getting used to life in the country, he came across the dark story behind Hinamizawa. When Keiichi reveals this dark secret, he discovers that his new friends may not be what they appear to be.
