On the official page for the animated franchise from Free !: Iwatobi Swim ClubA new promotional video has been released for the second film in the film project Free !: The last blow. The video maintains its premiere in cinemas in Japan, which is scheduled for April 22, 2022.
The first film was released in Japanese theaters on September 17, and the second is slated to hit theaters on April 22, 2022. The enterprise FanimeR has been selling the first film in Latin America since September 30, starting with Mexico and Chile, and will announce further dates in other countries shortly.
The franchise is based on a number of light novels written by Kouji Ouji. The first season with twelve episodes premiered in July 2013, followed by a second season with thirteen episodes in July 2014 and a third season with twelve episodes in July 2018. Synopsis for Free!
Haruka Nanase loves water and is passionate about swimming. In elementary school he took part in competitions with his three friends Rin Matsuoka, Nagisa Hazuki and Makoto Tachibana and won a relay race. After winning the tournament, the four friends went their separate ways. Years later they meet again as high school students; Rin couldn’t care less about returning to the things that were before. Not only does he go to another school, he just wants to prove that he is a better swimmer than Haruka.
After the bitter reunion, Haruka, Nagisa and Makoto decide to start the Iwatobi High School Swimming Club, but they need a fourth member if they want to take part in the next tournament. Enter Rei Ryuugazaki, a former member of the track team that recruits Nagisa. As the time for competition approaches, the four develop a close bond as they train intensively to be victorious and to sort things out between Haruka and Rin once and for all.
