The official site for the anime adaptation of Kotatsu’s manga “I’m Living with an Otaku NEET Kunoichi!?” (NEET Kunoichi to Nazeka Dousei Hajimemashita) has unveiled the main promotional video, confirming the premiere date and offering a sneak peek at the theme songs.

  • Opening Song: “Neet In Jam” performed by REAL AKIBA BOYZ and Shoko Nakagawa
  • Closing Theme: “NEETopia” performed by Hinaki Yano

The anime is set to debut on January 4, 2025, in Japan.

Manga and Light Novel Background

Kotatsu began publishing the manga in Dengeki Moeoh magazine by Kadokawa in August 2021, and it continues to be serialized. Kotatsu is also known for illustrating the light novels “It Was Insanely Too Late to Incarnate!”

Originally launched under the title “NEET Kunoichi to Nazeka,” the web manga was first published by the author on Twitter and Pixiv on January 25, 2020. The printed version has been published by Kadokawa since August 27, 2021. The series also gained popularity in the doujinshi format in 2020.

The romantic comedy revolves around a ninja girl who is also an otaku NEET. The story begins with Tsukasa, a regular worker, being saved by Shizuri, a skilled kunoichi. Due to certain circumstances, they start living together, and Tsukasa discovers that Shizuri is a true NEET otaku, spending her days gaming and reading manga.

Synopsis

“Somehow, I Started Living With a NEET Otaku Kunoichi” follows the story of Tsukasa, a normal salaryman who is saved by Shizuri, a genius kunoichi. However, Shizuri turns out to be a NEET otaku with zero romantic experience. Tsukasa’s househusband skills are put to the test as he continues to pamper Shizuri.
