It was revealed on the Twitter account of Mangapoke, Kodansha’s Manga Pocket application, that the animated adaptation of Kakeru Kobashiri’s light novel, The Witch’s Dawn, will arrive in the course of 2022.
A few months after the anime series was announced, The Dawn of the Witch finally has an official release window. The animated version of Kobashiri’s work will arrive in Japan April 2022.
Set in the same narrative universe as the light novel series Grimoire from Zero, The Dawn of the Witch tells the story of Savil, a hopeless student at the College of Magic in the Kingdom of Wenias, who has finally found his peace after 500 years of conflict between church and witches. Inexplicably, Savil has lost his memories of the time before college and is invited by Headmaster Albus to take part in special training in the southern part of the continent, but where the Persecutions against witches they are still strong.
Kobashiri’s light novel, illustrated by Takashi Iwasaki, has made his own Debut in August 2018, while receiving a manga adaptation in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine the following year.
