The attack of the giants is one of the most successful animes in recent years. The series, which was produced by Wit Studio in the first three seasons and then passed the baton to the MAPPA studio, has been faithfully implemented by Hajime Isayama’s manga. The final season of Attack of the Giants will appear on Crunchyroll from January 2022.
The first season of the anime conquered everyone. Classic Shonen characters and a mysterious horror atmosphere harmonize perfectly with the spectacular and well-animated battle scenes. In addition, the theme song, which was dedicated to a crossover video between the Avengers and the Giants, was also very much appreciated. Also based on the first theme of the anime, a parody video was created that caused a lot of controversy in the United States.
The video in question was shared on Twitter by United States Republican MP Paul Gosar on Nov. 7, but features the theme song from the first season of The Attack of the Giants the faces of various American politicians. In the video, Gosar himself could be seen beheading the Democratic MP Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Apparently, the gesture sparked the indignation of the Democratic Party, which asked political consequences for Gosar.
Consequences that arrived promptly: The MP is in fact removed from two US congresses and subjected to censorship. Gosar immediately removed the video from Twitter and later stated through his digital director that “everyone needs to relax”. Democratic MPs saw it as a a severe attack on them, while Chamber spokeswoman Nancy Pelosi has even requested a thorough investigation of the video.
Certainly Gosar made a reckless move, also considering his position. The video irretrievably compromises its political situation, which now appears as complex as that between the walls in third season of The Attack of the Giants.
