On January 11, 2011, the first episode of the animated adaptation of the light novels by Shinichi Kimura and illustrated by Kobuichi and Muririn, Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? ((Is that a zombie?). So today is the tenth anniversary of its transmission.
Unfortunately, there are no official media or social networks that host this franchise and the official website that once existed for information about the series has already been removed. However, since last December it has been announced that the franchise will be launched on March 24th on a new Blu-ray BOX in Japan. This pack contains the 25 episodes that make up the two seasons produced. It is priced at 35,200 yen (about $ 338) and all of the images that various distributors claim are supplied as a purchase / reservation benefit have also been revealed.
Kimura, Kobuichi and Muririn published the original light novels through the publisher’s label Fujimi Fantasia Bunko from the publisher Fujimi Shobo between January 2009 and June 2015 with a total of 19 volumes. A manga adaptation by Sacchi was published by the magazine Monthly dragon age of Fujimi Shobo between January 2010 and November 2013 with a total of eight compiled volumes.
The piece inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by Studio deen, Headed by Takaomi Kanasaki and scripts from Makoto uezuA second season of ten episodes was released in April 2012, with the distribution rights of both in the hands of the platform Funimation.
Synopsis of Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?
Ayumu Aikawa is a 16-year-old student who is tragically murdered while investigating a suspicious home. However, he soon wakes up next to a strange girl in armor named Eucliwood Hellscythe. She is a necromancer who revived Ayumu and consequently turned him into a zombie.
Now immortal, Ayumu goes in search of her murderer. One day, while looking for a cemetery, he comes across a boisterous girl named Haruna, who confronts a bear with a chainsaw and wears a magical girl’s outfit. After defeating the beast, Haruna uses magic to erase Ayumu’s memories, but he absorbs them. Without her powers, Ayumu must now be responsible for hunting the strange creatures that roam the underworld and terrorize the population.
