Good news and bad news for all readers of The Ancient Magus Bride, the extraordinary work of Kore Yamazaki published in Italy by Edizioni Star Comics. The good news is that the anime will be back soon with new episodes slated to come out between 2021 and 2022, while the bad one is that This isn’t the highly anticipated second season, but from three SROs.
In case you need to refresh your memory, we will remind you The old Magus Bride is a manga, written and drawn by the young writer Kore Yamazaki, which has been serialized on the pages of Monthly Comic Blade since 2013 and is currently in progress. The manga received an anime adaptation in 2017, published by WIT Studio and broadcast in Italy by Crunchyroll, in which the events recounted in 9 of the 15 published volumes were transposed.
Much has been said about the arrival of the anime’s second season in the past few weeks, but apparently there is not enough material to produce the new episodes. Fortunately, Yamazaki announced that three more OADs will arrive between 2021 and 2022 (Original Anime DVD) or special episodes that appear to be discontinued before the college story arc. At the top of the article you can watch the promotional video.
The first episode will be available from September 10, 2021, the release day of volume 16 of the manga, while the other two will be released in 2022, coinciding with the release of volumes 17 and 18. The miniseries is produced by Kafka , an animation studio specially set up for the realization of the new episodes and indicated by the staff The SROs will only be “the first part of a larger project”.. In 2022, the second season of the anime could therefore be announced with 9 customizable volumes.
