Written on the official site for the anime adaptation of the light novels by merged and illustrated by mitzvah, Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (This time I was reincarnated as a slime) the production of a third season was announced. The press release didn’t reveal any production details or a planned release date, but did include a visual lead hinata sakaguchi opposite to Rimuru Storm.
merged began publishing light novels with illustrations by mitzvah in May 2014 via the publisher micro magazinewith twenty volumes and a manga adaptation from the hand of Taiki Kawakami currently in publication by the magazine Monthly Shōnen Sirius from Kodansha.
The first season of the anime adaptation premiered on Autumn 2018 (October-December)followed by a two-part second season that premiered on Winter 2021 (January-March) Y Summer-2022 (July-September)and a feature film, which will be released in theaters in Japan on November 25.
Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Summary
Satoru Mikami, 37, is a typical corporate employee who is perfectly content with his monotonous lifestyle in Tokyo, apart from the fact that he has never had a girlfriend in his life. During a chance encounter with his colleague, he becomes the victim of a mugger and is stabbed to death. However, as he succumbs to his injuries, a strange voice echoes in his head, reciting a variety of commands that the dying cannot understand. When Satoru regains consciousness, he discovers that he has been reincarnated as a slime in an unknown realm. In the process, he gains new abilities, most notably the power to devour anything and mimic his looks and abilities.
Next, he stumbles upon the catastrophically sealed monster “Storm Dragon” Veldora, which has been sealed against rampaging through a city for the last 300 years. Understanding his situation, Satoru befriends him and promises to help him destroy the seal. In return, Veldora gives him the name Rimuru Tempest to grant him divine protection. Now freed from the mundanities of his past life, Rimuru embarks on a new journey with a clear goal in mind. As he adjusts to his new physique, his sticky antics spread across the world, gradually changing his destiny.
