After airing the twenty-fourth and final episode of the anime adaptation of the light novels Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (TenSura: Back then, I was reborn as a slime) the production of an animated feature film was announced. The premiere in Japan is planned for the fall season 2022 (October-December).
Fuse started publishing the light novels with illustrations by Mitz Vah in May 2014 through the publisher Micro magazine, with so far eighteen volumes and a manga adaptation by the hand of Taiki kawakami currently being published by the magazine Monthly Shonen Sirius from Kodansha.
The first season of the anime adaptation was produced by the studios 8 bit, Headed by Yasuhito kikuchi and scripts written by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, and premiered in October 2018. The second season was of Atsushi Nakayam and it aired in half in Japan in January 2021 and July 2021.

Satoru Mikami, 37, is a typical corporate worker who is perfectly happy with his monotonous lifestyle in Tokyo, apart from the fact that he has never had a girlfriend in his life. In the middle of a chance encounter with his colleague, he becomes the victim of an arbitrary attacker on the street and is stabbed to death. However, when he succumbs to his injuries, a strange voice echoes in his head and recites many commands that the dying man cannot understand. When Satoru regains consciousness, he discovers that he has been reborn as a slime in an unknown realm. This gives him new skills, most notably the power to devour everything and imitate his looks and abilities.
Then he stumbles upon the catastrophic sealed monster “Storm Dragon” Veldora, which has been sealed for 300 years because it destroyed a city. Satoru recognizes his situation, befriends him and promises to help him destroy the seal. In return, Veldora grants him the name Rimuru Tempest to give him divine protection. Now freed from the everyday routines of his past life, Rimuru embarks on a new journey with a clear goal in mind. As he got used to his new body, his sticky antics spread around the world and gradually changed his fate.
