Sweet Home, the famous webtoon drama / horror by the author of the equally famous Bastard, will receive a Netflix adaptation by surprise. The bomb report was confirmed on the night between 13 and 14 May 2020 from the official Twitter profile of Webtoons and literally set the web on fire.

For those who don't know it, Sweet Home is a webtoon, or a completely free vertical scrolling digital comic, whose chapters are published weekly on the site of the same name. According to what reported by the South Korean platform Naver, the site is visited daily by approx 6.2 million users and forecasts indicate a possible growth of 50% by the end of 2021. Sweet Home, according to work by the author Youngchan Hwang after Bastard, is followed by about 1.7 million readers and has published 124 chapters to date.

Netflix has not yet confirmed the extent of the adaptationtherefore it is possible that it is a classic anime, in CGI or a live-action remake. More information will presumably be shared in the months to follow.

Sweet Home follows the adventures of the young Hyun Cha, an unsocial and introverted boy who, after losing his family in a car accident, moves to an apartment building on the outskirts of an unspecified city in South Korea. As the days go by the protagonist begins to notice strange behavior from his neighbors and discovers, in spite of himself, a terrible truth.
