On October 1, 2021, the 20th anniversary of the Ghibli Museum was celebrated and on this occasion a giant balloon was created, which is dedicated to the mascot par excellence Studio Ghibli, the magical Totoro, which also gives its name to one of the most important and well-known films in Japanese animation.
The 1,300 lucky visitors to Mitaka, a city west of Tokyo where the museum is located, who received the official invitation to attend the event, were able to see the gigantic Totoro up close. approx. 5.3 meters high and 3.5 meters wide.
