On the official page for the filming of novels by Nahoko Uehashi, Shika no ouwho will bear the title Shika no Ou: Yuna to Yakusoku (The Stag King: Yuna and the Promised Journey) a new promotional video was released for the project. The video shows a fragment of the main title song titled "One Reason" and played by Miletus.

The film is scheduled to premiere in cinemas in Japan next September 10, after being postponed from its original September 2020 premiere for "various reasons". Kadokawa He originally published the novel in two simultaneous volumes, published in September 2014, and then republished the now-distributed series in four volumes between June and July 2017.

Shika no Ou synopsis

Van is the leader of a group of soldiers who were ready to die fighting for their country before a great empire that they wanted to rule and annex to its territory. Instead of dying, however, Van is taken as a slave and taken to work in the salt mines. One night a pack of mysterious dogs attack the salt mines and unleash a mysterious disease.

During the attack, Van takes the opportunity to escape, but meets a girl. Meanwhile, rumors are spreading elsewhere that immigrants bring a mysterious disease with them and should be avoided. Medic Hossal then decides to risk his life to find a cure for the mysterious disease, while other doctors analyze a father and son who appear to have survived the consequences. The novels then tell the interconnected stories and connections between those struggling against this cruel fate.
