Masami Kurumada's great success only came with me Saint Seiya: The Knights of the Zodiac, a job that soon met with great success in Japan and later around the world. The images, inspired by Greek mythology, turned out to be a really successful move, but how did the sensei come up with the idea behind his greatest masterpiece?

Thanks to the immense Greek mythology, the author managed to find in his hands a large amount of ideas, which he then wanted to enclose through the iconic armor of the knights. But how exactly did that workIdea behind the Knights of the Zodiac? The answer came thanks to us Star comics to which Kurumada granted an interview in the distant 2001:

""At first I imagined a story in which the protagonist was a boy who fought with the techniques of karate. Then I started studying battle scenes where lightning bolts and lightning bolts would pop up every time an attack was launched, and that seemed interesting to me. And then I thought that without armor, the protagonists' bodies would have suffered a lot of damage, and hence the idea of "armor" was born. But if armor had been used in karate, the effect probably wouldn't have been as aesthetic, so I changed my idea by creating more refined armor. By mixing all of these ideas with Greek mythology, I was able to create a new story. When I found words like Seitoshi (saint = holy warrior) and Sei (shawls = holy armor), the story immediately began to develop in my head by itself. After deciding on the protagonist, the other characters are automatically born along with the story itself.""

And on the other hand, did you know this anecdote? Please let us know as usual with a comment below, but not before checking out Masami Kurumada's work routine.
