Written on the official site for the film adaptation of the novels by Autumn Yomoji, Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e (BokuAI: To all of you I have loved) J Kimi wo Aishita Hitori no Boku e (KimiAi: To the only me that loved you) a special promotional video for both linked projects was unveiled. Both films premiered in Japanese theaters on October 7, each with different production teams but a cohesive story.
Both novels were published by the publisher Hayakawa Shลbo simultaneously on June 23, 2016, and so far a total of more than 240,000 copies have been printed. They’ve garnered a lot of buzz on social media, including TikTok, as they create different stories depending on the order in which the two novels are read.

Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi er: A world where people have been shown to oscillate between slightly different parallel worlds on a daily basis… After her parents divorce, Koyomi Takasaki, who lives with her mother, attends a local high school. However, she is suddenly approached by her classmate, Kazune Takigawa. He tells him that he moved away from World 85 and that Koyomi and Kazune are lovers there… Is he himself in the parallel world in this world?
Kimi where Aishita Hitori no Boku er: A world in which people demonstrably commute back and forth between slightly different parallel worlds every day… Koyomi Hidaka, who lives with her father after her parents divorced, meets a girl named Sato Shiori at the False Science Institute, whose father works. They both have a bit of a crush on each other, but everything changes when their parents get married.
