Matt Reeves, director of the Batman film currently in theaters (our review of The Batman here), announced on Twitter the arrival of a spin-off comic book of the film, titled Riddler: Year One. Reeves also revealed who will be in charge of writing the comic: it’s Paul Dano, the actor who plays the Riddler in The Batman.
The title Riddler: Year One recreates the famous story of Batman: Year One by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli, who narrated a new take on the origins of Batman in 1987. It’s likely that Dano will reveal his Riddler’s origin story in the same way in Riddler: Year One.
In any case, this must be pointed out the details of this series are not yet known. In addition to the title, the role of the screenwriter by Dano e release is scheduled for October 2022No other details have been revealed about Riddler: Year One, such as the identity of the artist who will be handling the illustrations or the number of releases that will make up the series.
Reeves’ tweet (reported below) however, it is accompanied by a promotional imageshowing a pair of glasses resting on some documents, one of which reads “Riddler year one“.
Pending more information from DC Comics, new backstories have surfaced regarding Affleck’s involvement in The Batman and the crossover with the Joker.
