Japanese studio JC Staff has announced the release period of the anime from Requiem of the Rose King, a romantic drama in fantasy sauce based on Aya Kanno’s manga Shojo. For JC Staff, this is a record breaking announcement A total of four films and twelve anime series will be released in the course of 2021, four of them not until April.

Aside from the insane number of commitments the Japanese studio made, the anime adaptation came from Requiem of the Rose King It will surely make a lot of Shojo fans happy, who more or less in the same period also enjoy The Duke of Death and His Maid, another long-awaited sentimental series always curated by JC Staff, and the highly anticipated Date a Live can IV.

For those unfamiliar with the work, we remind you that Requiem of the Rose King comes from the manga of the same name by Aya Kanno, serialized in Akita Shonen’s Monthly Princess from October 4, 2013, and still published at 15 Volumes is in progress. VIZ Media describes the plot as follows: “Richard, the ambitious third son of the House of York, believes he was cursed and doomed to eternal darkness from birth. But is it really fate that leads him on this winding path? Or are they his own beliefs? Based on William Shakespeare’s play “Richard III”, Aya Kanno’s dark fantasy takes place during the Wars of the Rosesand tells the rise of a tormented king halfway between two worlds, two classes and between good and evil“.

The anime adaptation of the series will be released in the fall. and more precisely in Octoberaccording to unofficial sources. More details on the cast, staff and number of episodes will be announced in the months to come.
