Written on the official site for the anime adaptation of the light novels by Bokuto One and illustrated by Ruria Miyuki, Reign of the Seven Magic Blades (Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai Suru) the first promotional video for the project was unveiled. The press release revealed production details, the cast of voices and confirmed it the premiere is planned for next July in Japan.
The light novels began to be published through the publishing label Dengeki Bunko from the publisher Kadokawa in September 2018. The work also inspired a manga adaptation of sakae esunowhich is published in the magazine Monthly Shounen Ace since May 2019.

Synopsis for Reign of the Seven Spellblades
In the magic world, there are irreversible deadly techniques commonly known as spells. These rare and elusive spells are shrouded in mystery along with their casters and only their sheer lethality is known to the masses. Each year the blossoming of spring means a new crop of students at the renowned Kimberly School of Magic. Amidst shocked and confused reactions, a celebratory parade of magical beasts welcomes newcomers to the institution.
Among them is the mysterious Oliver Horn, whose indifference turns to fascination when he turns to a strange figure: a girl in a strange outfit, wielding a Japanese sword. At the induction ceremony, Oliver realizes that all is not as it seems in Kimberly as the emergence of mazes, monsters and other threats puts the new student body in jeopardy. Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai suru explores the intertwined fates of two warriors as they discover the dark truths that lurk behind the walls of the academy.
