On the official site for the animated adaptation of the light novels Re: Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu ((Re: ZERO – Start life in another world) The cover and details of the sixth Blu-ray / DVD compilation of the second season of the project have been released.
This pack will be released in Japan on May 26th and contains the forty-second through forty-fourth episodes of the series (seventeenth through nineteenth of season two). The Blu-ray version costs 7,700 yen (about $ 74), while the DVD version costs 6,600 yen (about $ 63).
This second season had a total of twenty-five episodes, although its broadcast was split into two parts. The first part aired during the 2020 summer season (July-September), while the second part aired during the 2021 winter season (January-March). So far there is no confirmation for a third season.
Production team
- Masaharu Watanabe ((Granbelm, Wakaba * girl) is responsible for directing the anime in the studios white fox.
- Masahiro Yokotani ((Beelzebub, Free !, Hataraku Maou-sama!) is responsible for writing and monitoring the scripts.
- Kyuuta Sakai ((Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Ichigo Mashimaro, Sankarea) is responsible for the character design and the direction of animation.
Synopsis for Re: Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu
A meeting that should mark the arrival of peace time quickly collapses when Subaru Natsuki and Emilia return to the village of Irlam. Witnessing the havoc from the catastrophes known as the Archbishops of Sin, Subaru sinks into the depths of despair as its ability to remake things proves useless.
As the group heads to the sanctuary in search of answers, Subaru has an unexpected encounter with the witch of greed, Echidna. Under his wild rhythm he is forced to plunge into the spirals of the past and the future. At the same time, various mysterious threats turned their attention to the sanctuary and announced a terrible fate for the unfortunate people trapped inside.
