Written on the official site for the anime adaptation of the light novels by Yu Shimizu and illustrated by asagi toosaka, Seiken Gakuin no Makentsukai (The Demon Swordmaster of Excalibur Academy) the first promotional video for the project was unveiled. The video reveals the production team and lead voice, but does not announce a planned release date.
Shimizu and Toosaka began publishing the light novels through the publisher Kadokawa in May 2019. A manga adaptation by asuka keigen will be published in the magazine Monthly Shōnen Ace from the publisher Kadokawa since November 2019.

Summary of Seiken Gakuin no Makentsukai
In the fantasy tale, the demon king Leonis imprisoned himself for 1,000 years to prepare for the final battle, but when he woke up he found himself in the body of a ten-year-old boy. A beautiful young woman named Lisellia from the Holy Sword Academy then tells him, "Why were you imprisoned in such a place? Everything is fine now, this big sister will take care of you!” Under Lisellia's care, Leonis is shocked to find that the world has completely changed. Confused and bewildered, Leonis finds himself enrolled in the Holy Sword Academy.
