Written and illustrated after the airing of the twelfth and final episode of the anime adaptation of the manga Shinobu Ohtaka, eastIt has been confirmed that the series will have a second part titled “Orient: Awajishima Gekitou hen (The Battle of Awaji Island)β and will be released in Japan next July. The press release doesn’t officially list them as “second season“, which is why it is called “second part of the first seasonβ.
The statement also revealed a special illustration by the author Shinobu Ohtakaand new speakers have been announced, including:
- Tomoaki Maeno as Tatsuomi Uesugi.
- Natsuki Hanae as Kanetatsu Naoe.
- Yoshiki Nakajima as Masayuki Amakasu.
- Koki Uchiyama like Akihiro Shimazu.
- Gakuto Kajiwara as Katsumi Amako.

The first part premiered in Japan on January 5 and had a total of 12 episodes on the platform crispy roll takes care of sales in the west. For his part, Ohtaka began publishing the manga in the magazine Weekly ShΕnen Magazine from the publisher Kodansha in May 2018. The play transitioned to a monthly publication in the magazine Bessatsu Shonen Magazine earlier this year.

Synopsis for Orient
At the age of 10, best friends Musashi and Kojiro sat in emotional silence as Kojiro’s father told tales of evil demons hunting innocents and warriors defeating them. The two practice sword fighting and vow to become the strongest in the world. But as they get older, Kojiro becomes cynical and Musashi realizes he can’t turn back 150 years of demonic rule on his own. They call him a prodigy with a pickaxe, and he’s almost ready to settle for a life of work. However, he cannot shake the feeling that he still has a responsibility to act… and soon the injustices of his world will compel him to act…
