The opening of an official website and an attached press release revealed new details for the animated adaptation of the manga, written and illustrated by Shinobu ohtaka, Orient. The statement revealed the first promotional image of the project, the production team and the voice.

Orient

The series is scheduled to premiere in Japan in 2022. For his part, Ohtaka began publishing the manga in the magazine Weekly Shonen magazine from the publisher Kodansha in May 2018. The work was moved to a monthly publication in the magazine Bessatsu Shonen magazine Earlier this year.

Shinobu ohtaka is perhaps best known as a manga writer like Point, Mage: Sindbad no Bouken Yes Sumomomo Momomo: Chijou Saikyou no Yomewho inspired all of the anime adaptations. Additionally, she recently worked as a character designer for the original anime by Studio VOLN and the director Goro Taniguchi, Back arrow.

  • Tetsuya Yanagisawa (Shattered Angels, High School DxD, Senran Kagura Shinovi Master) is responsible for directing the anime in the studios ACGT
  • Makiko Kunisawa (Rise of a Bookworm, Magimoji Rurumo, Hatsukoi Limited) is responsible for writing and maintaining the scripts.
  • Takahiro kishida (Serial experiments Lain, Baccano !, Haikyu !!) is responsible for character design.
  • Hideyuki Fukasawa (Fate / Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, Flowers of Evil, Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu) is responsible for composing the soundtrack.

Orient synopsis

At the age of 10, best friends Musashi and Kojiro sat in emotional silence as Kojiro's father told stories of evil demons who hunt the innocent and warriors who defeat them. By practicing swordsmanship, the two swear to become the strongest in the world. But as they get older, Kojiro becomes cynical and Musashi realizes that he cannot turn back 150 years of demonic dominance on his own. They call him a pickaxe prodigy, and he's almost ready to settle for a life of work. However, he cannot help feeling that he still has a responsibility to act ... and soon the injustices of his world will force him to act ...
