The Onigashima saga brought many characters, old and new, to the game. If the latter was completely surprising, the old ones were delved into instead. The veils of the mystery of Kaido’s devil fruit have been lifted, one of the most important in ONE PIECE, but not only.
The chapters also highlighted the devil fruit of Yamato, the subject of many theories. Eiichiro Oda has confirmed the names and main characteristics of these two fruits in ONE PIECE, but has now decided to do so deepen it thanks to the ONE PIECE magazine. Volume 13 of the specialty magazine revealed some information about Yamato and Kaido’s Devil Fruits, including the official name, properties, shape, color, and more.
The first one in the picture below is the mythological one Uo Uo no Mi Kaido’s Seiryu model. As is now known, the fruit enables him to transform into a dragon that can control fire, wind and lightning. These elemental skills give him a wide range of attacks, but also the summoning of clouds that can lift an island of over 35,000 people. As you can see in the picture, it is a blue and light blue fruit that is made in flakes.
For Yamato there is instead the Inu Inu no Mi model Okuchi no Makami, of an orange and rounded shape. The power allows him to transform into a mythological wolf and control the cold air that manifests itself in hybrid form behind his shoulders. In addition, the body is covered with a very thin layer of ice, which enables better defense against attacks.
