The war for Wano rages on in the pages of the ONE PIECE manga, and even after the Straw Hat Pirates defeat their respective opponents, the Pirates of the Hundred Beasts, it seems that Wano’s future is being questioned by an unsuspecting resident of the manga in isolation Nation.
The Straw Hats have certainly had their difficulties in this latest story arc, with each member of Luffy’s crew having their own problems to solve, even if Some Wano residents may have greater hand problems.
This war unfolding in the land of Wano has never been easy for the Straw Hats to win Luffy and the Resistance were outnumbered and the most powerful members of the Pirates of the Hundred Beasts, perhaps more dangerous than anything they’ve ever faced.
In addition to the one-on-one battles, the Son of Oden, momosuke, finds himself in his dragon form to help keep the Hundred Beast Meadows headquarters, Onigashima, afloat. Should Momo lose control, theIsland would fall and destroy the land of Wano.
While Oden’s young son tries his best to keep Onigashima in the sky, He begins to wonder if opening the borders of Wano is the right decision: “My father was not a prophet! If he were alive now, would he really still be saying ‘Open the borders of Wano’? I’m not smart enough to understand! If that means putting the people of Wano at risk, I don’t want to open borders! Am I just a coward, Yamato?”
Momonosuke is one of the most likely candidates to become Wano’s ruler If the Straw Hats manage to dethrone both the Pirates of Beasts and the current Shogun Orochi, and with that mindset, Wano’s promise of being at the service of the world may be a vain hope, whether close to Kaido or the Resistance.
