Manga continues to expand and the producers themselves are moving away from the simple concept of creating products intended only for Japanese audiences. In Europe and the USA there are now more and more shops and bookstores Material related to ONE PIECE, Naruto, My Hero Academia and morewith even less famous manga in the spotlight.
Obviously there are countries that are way ahead in this promotion like France where manga are now the champions. France recently hosted Attack on Titan author Hajime Isayama as sales of ONE PIECE soar in the country. And it is precisely the latter that once again confirms its popularity by forcefully invading an area that seemed completely separate, that of football.
The UEFA Champions League round of 16 between Paris Saint German and Bayern Munich was played on Tuesday 14 February, with the Parisians playing at home in the Parc des Princes. Since the stadium was full, PSG fans decided to create one ONE PIECE thematic choreography which affected almost the entire stadium. In one of the corners is a giant Luffy dressed in PSG’s colors of blue and red throwing a Gom Gom Gatling. However, one of the punches goes through the entire curve and reaches the stands, where it hits a Bayern Munich logo, which is destroyed. The other curve instead devotes its space to one Going Merry with the colors of the Paris team.
This confirms the passion in France for manga and in particular for ONE PIECE, since thousands of people were involved in a very special choreography. The video below, which went viral on Twitter, shows all the work done by PSG supporters.
