A few days earlier ONE PIECE has made headlines again after breaking another sensational record: over 500 million copies of the manga have been distributed worldwide, with only 80% of them in the Rising Sun area. The numbers obviously gave the plant a Guinness World Record.
With 1055 chapters of ONE PIECE behind it, the masterpiece of Eiichiro Oda is one of the most famous manga ever, a true global phenomenon that has enriched the coffers of Shueisha with important financial revenues, but above all it has expanded the readership of the publisher’s flagship magazine, Weekly Shonen Leap.
The editor-in-chief of the magazine, Hiroyuki Nakano, recently received the updated Guinness World Records certificate he showed off with a photo posted on social media, the same attached at the bottom of the news. Shueisha had already received the award for ONE PIECE, but was updated with the latest figures according to the latest official data: 416.5 million copies released in Japan alone from 1997 to July 2022. Outside the rising sun, on the other hand, around 100 million tank subscriptions are circulating worldwide.
