When the ONE PIECE anime enters Act 3 of Wanokuni, the manga has just welcomed Chapter 1000. A symbolic, important chapter that hints at some revelations but focuses on the exploits of a single character: Monkey D. Luffy.
With the release of Weekly Shonen Jump on January 4, 2021, we saw Luffy launch a can attack on Kaido and take him down, only to then make his statement on where he will piss off the emperors. But now begins the real battle of ONE PIECE that so many fans have been waiting for for centuries. The Supernove Quintet must face the two emperors and defeat them, under the pressure of the end of the Wanokuni and their ambitions.
ONE PIECE 1001 will arrive on MangaPlus on January 17th, 2021 in English and Spanish, after another weekly break for the magazine’s New Year break. But what will we see? There are so many open fronts, from the battle of Nami and Usopp to the battle against the other Mugiwara members’ Tobi Roppi, not to mention that there are still characters like Basil Hawkins around.
In short, ONE PIECE chapter 1001 is unpredictable as it will surely provide some of its time for Luffy’s clash, but could easily skip to one of the many Onigashima scenes. What do you expect from? ONE PIECE 1001?
