Background
Tokyo Revengers has a rich history. The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine from March 2017 to November 2022, accumulating thirty-one compilation volumes. The anime adaptation, produced by LIDEN FILMS, has spanned three seasons with a total of fifty episodes. These seasons aired during Spring 2021, Winter 2023, and Fall 2023.
Synopsis
Takemichi Hanagaki’s Journey: Takemichi Hanagaki’s life peaked during his second year of high school. He had respect, a close-knit group of friends, and a girlfriend. However, twelve years later, he finds himself at rock bottom, mocked by children and constantly apologizing to his younger boss. His life takes a dramatic turn when he learns of the brutal murder of his ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, by the Tokyo Manji gang.
Just as he is about to end his own life, Takemichi is transported back in time to the same day twelve years ago when he was still with Hinata. He relives the events that led to his downfall and meets Hinata’s younger brother. In a moment of desperation, he warns him to protect his sister. Miraculously, Takemichi returns to the future, which has now changed. Realizing he has the power to alter time, Takemichi decides to prevent Hinata’s tragic fate by changing the course of history.
