Kakashi Hatake is one of the main characters in the world of Naruto. Jonin and the former Anbu, respected by many ninja allies and opponents, have seen his fame grow thanks in part to the Sharingan. But curiosity about his figure has also grown due to the mask that constantly hides the lower part of his face.
Unlike the forehead covering on the left eye, which is often raised to reveal the Sharingan it is endowed with, the mask covering the Jonin’s nose, mouth, and cheeks are never removed in the anime Naruto, in Naruto: Shippuden, or in recent appearances in Boruto: Naruto the Next Generations. Actually, with a special episode of Naruto, the guys get close at first, but with the second series, fans can finally see Kakashi’s face.
The episode in question is 469 and comes from a special chapter that Masashi Kishimoto drew after the manga number 700.2 ended. Kishimoto – and hence the production of the anime – did not show his face to his students. They only allow viewers to see Kakashi without a maskand reveals a practically normal face. All of this is likely to emphasize how a ninja must behave in the shadows, and therefore a mask is a fundamental element to infiltrate enemy lands at best.
However, the mask recently became an icon, and in fact, Kakashi has been used as a role model in fighting the coronavirus.
