My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex teaser trailer shows what happened in the first episode of the anime. Once engagedafter an unfortunate coincidence, the two protagonists find themselves sharing the same domestic walls as stepbrothers. Will they manage not to fall in love again for the sake of the new family, or will this strange situation prove to be a nightmare for them?
The clip also anticipates that Closing theme of the series, “Futari Pinocchio” by Harmoe. The opening track “Deneb to Spica” is performed by the group DIALOGUE +. My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex made its summer debut on Crunchyroll, simulcast on July 12. The main voice acting cast includes Rina Hidaka and Hiro Shimono as Yume Irido and Mizuto Irido.
The anime is produced by the animation studio Project #9 under the direction of Shinsuke Yanagi. Komi Can’t Communicate’s Deko Akao is overseeing and writing the scripts for the series. The series was printed by Kadokawa in December 2018.
