In December, Demon Slayer’s new dangerous mission began in Japan, which rightly heralded the actual second season of the anime. A month later, the winter season also saw the arrival of Attack on Titan, which was highly anticipated in its final season. Few would have foreseen this the explosion of My Dress-Up Darling.
Between one colossus and the other, between episodes of costumes, tailoring, smiles and lots of sympathy, My Dress-Up Darling is proving to be one of the true highlights of this winter season which opened in 2022. Gojo Wakana and Marin Kitagawa are two very successful characters who alone manage to continue a cosplay series that few would have bet on. And despite the aforementioned Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan 4’s ongoing twists and turns, My Dress-Up Darling season 1 continues to win in some polls.
On Anime Trending, a site where fans often gather to vote week-by-week not only on episodes, but also on their favorite characters and the couples they hope to see, My Dress-Up Darling wins every stage. It’s no surprise fans have voted Marin x Gojo best couple yet, or if Marin Kitagawa is sweeping the charts for best female character. However, in the men’s rankings, Gojo Wakana finally climbs to first place, overtaking Tanjiro in the overall standings My Dress-Up Darling doesn’t drop from first place for the second week in a rowbeat the final season of Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer 2.
With the completion of Demon Slayer, My Dress-Up Darling will have it even easier, even if the last word is yet to be spoken, as Attack on Titan’s bombastic ending is just around the corner.
What a week it has been for My Dress-up Darling! Sweep!
