The director has via his official Twitter account Yukio Nishimotowho is currently in charge of the animation project Muv-Luv-Alternative: The animationShe posted an update stating that production of the seventh episode has ended and that “more than half has passed“. This would mean that the series has only one arc (Duration of three months) with a maximum of twelve to fourteen episodes. The full post wrote: «In today’s production work we have reached episode 7 … We are already halfway there. Let’s start with the second part, I’ll keep doing my best!».
The series is scheduled to premiere on October 6th in Japan in the program block + ULTRA from Fuji TV, and the unpopular streaming service FujiTV On Demand (FOD)while the platform Crispy roll takes care of the spread in the west.

Muv-Luv Alternative Synopsis
In the sequel, Takeru wakes up three years after the start of “Unlimited” and finds himself back in his room. Although he initially thought that the events of “Muv-Luv Unlimited” were just a dream, he soon senses something was wrong and leaves home to find that he has been sent back in time, to the beginning of the events of “Unlimited.” Since he does not want to accept the events, he decides to help Professor Kouzuki to save the earth and mankind, to ruin the advance of the mysterious Alternative IV and thus to end the end of “Unlimited”.
