Via the official Twitter account for the anime adaptation of Rifujin na Magonote and illustrated by SiroTaka, Mushoku Tensei: reincarnation without workit was announced that the series will be split into two parts. The first part will premiere on January 10, 2021. The premiere date for the second part has not yet been announced.

Rifujin na Magonote started publishing the novels on the website Shousetsuka ni Narou Completed in November 2012 and April 2015. Then the publisher Media factory started publishing on paper with illustrations by SiroTaka in January 2014. The publisher released the twenty-second volume in July 2019.
